Beneterre makes reusable shopping bags and totes for produce, groceries and general shopping. The company was founded last year by Englewood-based

    (The Denver Post)

entrepreneurs Louise Hurlbut and Ann Swanson. Their bags, which retail for $13 to $80, are made in Colorado using sustainable fibers such as cotton. Styles include the Cocoon, right, a patterned shopping bag that folds into itself and seals, making it small enough to fit in a pocket, purse or suitcase. Beneterre bags are sold at such stores as Chandler Farm, 2440 W. Main St., Littleton; Happy Canyon Flowers, 5046 E. Hampden Ave.; The Plum Gallery, 5979 S. University Blvd., Greenwood Village; and soon at eBags.com. More at beneterre.com.
